#  The Trade Promotion Treaty between Panama and the United States of America. (TPC-Panama United States)

El Tratado de Promoción comercial entre Panamá y los Estados Unidos de América (TPC Panamá-EEUU), entra en vigor el 31 de octubre de 2012, como resultado de un prolongado período de negociaciones que abarcó cuatro administraciones gubernamentales.

Los TPC´s en general tienen por objetivo el establecer acuerdos para la liberación programada del comercio de mercancías entre los países signatarios. Siendo socios comerciales históricos, Panamá y Estados Unidos persiguen con este esfuerzo el fortalecimiento e incremento de las relaciones comerciales entre ambos.

A diferencia de acuerdos anteriores, el TPC Panamá Estados Unidos, no solo regula el intercambio de bienes, sino que se amplía al comercio de servicios y las inversiones. Adicionalmente, atiende otros temas relacionados con el comercio como la propiedad intelectual, las compras gubernamentales, aspectos laborales, la cooperación, solución de controversias y los aspectos ambientales que tienen relación con la actividad comercial .
